BASF kids lab

Hi bloggers, On the 19th of November while most of the school were doing Athletics day, Daniel , Madeleine Ibrahim and myself went to BASF kids lab at the University of Auckland. It was fun and exciting here is my blog post. We got to colour in pictures with red cabbage, lemon juice, baking soda and vinegar.First when the bell rang at 8:50 am. We had to go to the office and wait for Madeleine's Mum when she arrived we ran straight to Madeleine's Mum car. On the way we stopped at Plant and Food Research to pick up the swipe card from Madeleine's dads work. Then we left and went to park the car in the Car park at the Auckland University It was really big it had about 5 levels. When we arrived at the University we walked into a room were one of the staff told us some things and showed us a slide show of what we were going to do there . Then we walked upstairs into the lab and we started to do science experiments. Me and Maddy were buddies. Me and Maddy did our first experiment it was when the scientist put water and super absorbent in the cup and put it over someone's head and it didn't come out, it became ice it was so magical. Then we did some other experiments like making goo worms, cleaning water from blue to clear, changing the colour of beads, just to name some. My favourite part was when we put the water and super absorbent in a jar and it became ice it was so magical again. Then we did some other experiments after. Another one of my favourite's part was when we put the colourful beads in front of the sun and they change colour. When we got to school it was lunch time. When we had eaten I got to do some of the athletics activities, it was a really fun day. I ran in the relays and Ruru house won.

This is my report about cross country that happened we have been fundraising for a long time to do this and we finally got to do cross country. The money that you fund-raise you get prizes for how much you raise Cross country Last Wednesday the 11th of September my school students participated in cross country day. We did it to fund raise for a canopy and just to have fun and get fit. My favourite part was my run. First I was waiting for my turn to run. I was sitting there scared for my turn. Chilly wind blew on me while I was waiting in the shade on Te Waka Ako’s deck. Butterflies danced around in my tummy. My friends had dancing butterflies in their tummies . It was also supposed to be really muddy on the run, Ew ew! Well I was waiting for my turn I was cheering for the year 1 girls Yay!. I was Shouting so much that my throat got very sore. The rain started pouring on me and I got even colder and the wind got even stronger. Thirdly, I had to warm up and get ready to run I still have butterflies in my tummy. To warm up I was Stretching my legs and turning around in a circle like the wind spinning flowers around. I was also jogging on the spot. I was excited to run now. Suddenly ms sands shouted one, two , three go!! Run. Squashy mud covered my shoes. I was disgusted. I was Almost there than I won 1st place for the year three girls. Hooray hooray. My friend Paige got 2nd place for the year three girls and my other friend Anna got third place for the year three girls. I love cross country because… it makes me fit and strong and I can try new things out and have fun.
Hi readers
In Te Ana Ako We did rock painting. We first made some designs in our art books. Then we cleaned the rocks and then we painted them with one colour. After that we got to put a design on them. It was a bit hard to paint on the rock because they were a bit bumpy and had holes in them. When the rocks are finished they are going to be put in a friend ship garden. painting rocks was part of  inquiry.
