Talofa lava,
Guess what we did to celebrate Anzac Day? When I got to school we weren't allowed in the class room till 9.00 normally we are allowed in at 8.30. Me and my friends were peeking because we wanted to know what was in the class. All we could see was string. Why string? When the 9.00 bell went we all gathered up in one class and the teachers told us what we were doing. They were all wearing black and had green black and brown face paint.
The first thing we did was class by class enter the no mans land with our art book and pen, pencil and ruler. We had to crawl all the way till we had room the work. If we stuck our head up we would lose a life we had 10 lives. Or we would get shot with a Nerf gun. After we had all settled under the string we started to write down some equations while we waited for our basic facts sheets to come don the room. Once we all had out sheets we started. Then suddenly (bang) gunfire noises started it was loud and the noise was trying to distract us. Lots of people got distracted and got less then they would normally get, but I got more than I would normally get! I got 77/100 and I would normally get less then that.
Anyway Anzac maths we did a little bit of Anzac maths. There was a Information sheet of lots of information about the different wars. We also had a answer sheet that we had to put down our answers to lots of questions about Anzac Day there was also lots of maths included in these activities. After that we had brain break under the wires it was weird. We had to do exercise under string I think it was difficult because we could not stand up. These were the exercises we did. 10 push ups on our knees, 10 sit ups without touching the string above us. Then we had to hold a plank for 15 seconds.
When we had finished we write a letter and pretend we were at the war in a trench. Here is a link to my letter and there is also a acrostic poem about the wars. After lunch some people went swimming while we did a pictodraw about Gallipoli. This was fun and there was lots of drawing included in this activity. at the end of the day we had to find a ice block stick that is connected to a string. Then we had to get a buddy and blindfold them and give them instructions to wind up the string this was so fun and a bit frustrating because we kept mucking up the string. Anyway I had an amazing day I hope you like my blog post. What will you do on Anzac Day.
