Hi bloggers
This what me or my family did on Anzac day hope you enjoy. if you have any free time you could leave me a comment or look at some of my other posts. blog you later.
On the weekend it was Anzac day and my uncle went down to my letterbox at dawn to participate in New Zealand's virtual stand at dawn service but I slept in. My uncle said that many if our neighbours joined at there letterboxes as well. Then on Monday my uncle also made some Anzac biscuits they were very very delicious that my uncle had to make lots more but we all kept eating them.
Hi Lily,
ReplyDeleteWe had ANZAC biscuits at our house too. James and Mrs Riceman made them together. They were delicious and they didn't last very long here. We also decorated some poppies and put them up in our window for people walking past. Did you put up the creations that you made last week as one of your reading activities?
Thanks for sharing how you commemorated ANZAC day.
Hey Lily,
ReplyDeleteSounds like your uncle is quite the baker! Has he been baking a lot during lockdown, or are ANZAC biscuits his speciality? Either way, it sounds like you had some yummy treats to commemorate ANZAC day!
Thanks for sharing :)
Hi Lily, many New Zealanders stood at their gate this year. It was a great way to remember and show gratitude for the people who fought for our freedom, since services weren't allowed. Did your uncle count the number of people out in your street?
ReplyDeleteYou were very fortunate that your uncle made ANZAC biscuits, lots of ANZAC biscuits. My daughter, who was living in our bubble, likes to make them with apricot bits through them. So Tasty!
Great job blogging Lily. Keep it up and we will see you when we are back at school again.
Hi Lilly. I really liked how you added one picture about a poppie. Also I like how you said you made Anzac biscits. Bye.
ReplyDeleteKia Ora Lily,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, what do you mean you slept in? Haha, it's because we're tiring you out with all of the work we're giving you to do isn't it! We went down to the letterboxes at the end of our driveway, and joined one set of neighbours (at a social distance) to listen to the ANZAC service on the radio. Our neighbour took a candle down and lit it, which gave us a focal point.
Unfortunately, we didn't have any ANZAC biscuits in our house - I really missed the yummy ones that Ms Sands always makes for the staff room each ANZAC day. Maybe your uncle would like to make some for the teachers when we go back to school? ;-)
Thanks for posting about your experience Lily, it's great to be able to connect through the blogs. I'll look forward to your next post.
