Yesterday the 13th of November the whole of the middle syndicate went to Corbans Estate Art Centre on a bus. I learnt how to say new words in different Pacifica languages.
At the centre we got to do drumming, make leis and at the end the boys and girls got to do a Hawaiian dance. We all came together to do the dance. It was called hula. My favourite thing to do was making a lei because there was a pattern to follow. It was flower, straw, flower, straw there was a lot of different coloured straws and flowers. When we had finished we got to give the lei to somebody else.
I came away with a new experiment in my head to do at school or home. I was sad when I had to leave but we will probably see the Pacific mamas again. We went because we were learning about Pacific countries and new things. It was a really fun trip. I talked to my parents all about the trip when I got home.
